Scope This Standard shall cover assis??ve tables to facilitate and support the personal hygiene of individuals over 22.6 kg (50 lbs) who are physically challenged or disabled. Assis??ve tables shall be fixed or adjustable height, pivot, or ??lt. Assis??ve tables shall have the op??on to have an integrated water closet, body wash system, lavatory or sink, and disinfec??on system. This standard shall establish physical requirements and tests addressing structural strength, mechanical adjustments, materials, integrated fixtures, electrical components, safety restraint systems, entrapment safety, drain line hydraulics, product marking, and installa??on documenta??on requirements for assis??ve tables. Note: These products are also known as adult changing tables, universal changing tables, universal changing sta??ons, or assis??ve tables for personal hygiene.
