Scope This Health Data Lexicon Standard is comprised of terms that are relevant to the health data ecosystem, including those relating to data practices, data technology, and data roles. This Standard is intended for use by all health sector stakeholders, including providers, policymakers, researchers, industry, and patient groups. This Standard and the terms contained within are intended to advance national dialogue and data literacy. However, when appropriate, the entire Lexicon, or specific terms may be leveraged by the international data community so as to unite global efforts to advance awareness and understanding of data. In some cases, a term may have more than one principle meaning. When a term has more than one meaning it has been presented in this Lexicon as i) xxxx, ii) xxxx, iii) xxxx, etc. Data knowledge and opportunities are constantly evolving. Therefore, this Health Data Lexicon Standard will require an episodic update. Upon annual review of this Standard, new terms and definitions may be included, or existing terms refined.
