Scope This certification program covers protective clothing in the form of a single or two-piece garment, namely a jacket and pants, as well as additional protective clothing garments such as neck curtains hoods, sleeves, aprons and gaiters. For adequate complete protection of welders against hazards, personal protective equipment (PPE) covered by other standards should be worn in addition to the PPE to protect the head, face, hands, and feet. This document was developed to serve as a reference document for conformity assessment activities of specific products. NOTE-- Confirmity assessment is defined as the systemic examination of the extent to which a product fulfils specified requirements.
