CAN/CSA-ISO/IEC 9594-4-97 (R2001)

The international community has decided to make this standard available only in the English language version. It has been adopted as a National Standard of Canada on this basis. This National Standard of Canada is equivalent to International Standard ISO/IEC 9594-4:1995. 1 Scope This Recommendation | International Standard specifies the behavior of DSAs taking part in the distributed Directory application. The allowed behavior has been designed so as to ensure a consistent service given a wide distribution of the DIB across many DSAs. The Directory is not intended to be a general purpose database system, although it may be built on such systems. It is assumed that there is a considerably higher frequency of queries than of updates.
