This National Standard of Canada is based on International Standard CEI/IEC 257:1968. 1. Scope This Recommendation relates to fuse-holders for miniature cartridge fuse-links for general purposes including those for general use in electronic and similar equipment. The Recommendation applies to fuse-holders of the screw-in and bayonet type. The requirements, where appropriate, may be applied to other types of fuse-holder by agreement between manufacturer and purchaser. This Recommendation applies to fuse-holders with a maximum rated current of 16 A and a maximum rated voltage of 1 000 V a.c. and d.c. This Standard applies to the safety of such equipment designed to be installed and used in accordance with the rules of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), Part I. Note: Manufacturers designing products for use in Canada may find a helpful summary of the equipment-related requirements of the CEC, Part I, in CSa Publication Spe-2000.
