1.1 This standard applies to a sealer for application to asbestos-contaning materials to prevent release of asbestos fibres from the materials. This sealer is not suitable for highly friable materials (Note 1). 1.2 This standard provides guidance to the user when selecting a specific type and class of sealer as described in par. 3.1. It does not address concerns with any change in properties or characterisitcs of the material including fire resistance that could be attributed to the sealing process, nor does it address the decision of whether or not to use a sealer. 1.3 For more detailed information on application considerations, see par. 8.2.
