Canadian OSI Registration Procedures and Guidelines - Part 3: Guidelines for Object Identifier Names
1. Scope 1.1 This Standard provides guidelines for the assignment of object identifier component values as defined in International Standard ISO 8824, and in accordance with International Standard ISO/IEC 9834-1. These guidelines address only the administrative function of assigning object identifier component values and do not address any technical role associated with object registration. 1.2 This Standard applies to two object identifier subtrees: (a) the subtree, hereafter referred to as the ISO subtree, defined by Canada (value 124 as specified in International Standard ISO 3166) as its root node which is subordinate to the member-body (value 2) node which is subordinate to the ISO (value 1) node which is subordinate to the International standard ISo 8824 node; and (b) the subtree, hereafter referred to as the joint ISO-CCITT subtree, defined by Canada (value 124 as specified in ISO Standard 3166) as its root node which is subordinate to the country (value 16) node which is subordinate to the joint-ISO-CCITT (value 2) node which is subordinate to the International Standard 8824 root node.
