This National Standard of Canada is equivalent to American National Standard ANSI/BHMA A156.19-1984 in total, without any modification. Requirements in this Standard apply to power assist doors, low energy power operated doors or low energy power open doors for pedestrian use and not provided for in ANSi A156.10 (BHMA 1601). Included are provisions intended to reduce the chance of user injury or entrapment.
