Scope 1.1 This Standard prescribes a method for determining heat outputs, appliance efficiencies, emission levels and composition, and flue gas flow rates for wood-fired appliances with a closed fire chamber. 1.2 For the purpose of this Standard, a wood-fired appliance with a closed fire chamber is one in which the air-fuel ratio is less than 30:1 by weight during the burning of at least 90% of the fuel mass consumed in the low firing cycle defined in Clause 7.2. 1.3 This Standard does not apply to inserts, furnaces, boilers, or units with automatic controls.
