General Purpose Electric Overhead Travelling Cranes

1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This Standard applies to all types of top-running electric overhead travelling cranes for general use, with the exception of single girder cranes. The Standard is not intended to apply to steel mill type cranes, which are covered by other specifications, such as those of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers (AISE) and the British Iron and Steel Research Association (BISRA).
