Extinguisher, Fire, Water, Back-Pack

1. SCOPE 1.1 This standard applies to back-pack fire extinguishers for use in fighting forest, brush and grass fires. The extinguishers consist essentially of a rigid or soft tank, shoulder straps, trombone pump, hose and nozzle. Examples of the three types of back-pack extinguishers covered in this standard are illustrated in Figure 1.
