Canadian organizations are expected to be compliant with existing legal requirements and regulatory frameworks. This Standard describes additional requirements to ensure accessible and inclusive workplaces. This Standard is intended to apply to federally regulated entities and persons as specified in Section 7 of the Accessible Canada Act. While there is an aspiration for all employers in Canada, including provincial and municipal employers, to follow this Standard, only federally regulated employers, including Agencies, Boards, Commissions, and public appointments made by a government minister, are in scope.
