BNQ 8000-001/2021
The purpose of this document is to set out the requirements for certification programs based on The Food Safety Enhancement Program Approach to a Preventive Control Plan, which was published after the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) came into force in January 2019.
It applies to food processing companies, food storage and distribution service providers, and providers of services that have a direct impact on food safety.
This document is meant to serve as a tool for companies in the food processing chain that wish to prove that they have implemented an effective HACCP system following the release of the SFCR.
It was prepared for use as a reference document for the BNQ’s certification work, in which the BNQ considers only whether food companies are compliant with this certification document.
