The purpose of this document is intended to establish the certification requirements, rules of procedure and marking requirements applying to the certification of polyethylene (PE) pipe and fittings according to the requirements of the product standards BNQ 3624-027, BNQ 3624-110, BNQ 3624-115, BNQ 3624-120 and ASTM F894. It is important to note that, to meet the needs expressed by prime contractors, Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ) offers the entitled program ASTM F894 limited to the certification of closed profile pipe. This document is for manufacturers seeking to have the conformity of their products recognized by the BNQ. This document was developed to serve as a reference document for conformity assessment activities of specific products. NOTE — Conformity assessment is defined as the systematic examination of the extent to which a product fulfils specified requirements.
