1 Scope [Replace this clause with the following] 1.1 This Standard specifies general and safety requirements for (a) light-emitting diode (LED) modules without integral controlgear for operation under constant voltage, constant current, or constant power; and (b) self-ballasted LED modules with integral controlgear for use on dc supplies up to 250 V or ac supplies up to 347 V. 1.2 This Standard applies to units for use in non-hazardous locations that are intended to be installed or used in accordance with CSA C22.1, Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), Part I, and also to units that are intended for connection to isolated (non-utility connected) power sources such as generators, batteries, fuel cells, solar cells, and ac/dc converters. 1.3 Requirements for LED light engines, intended for connection to a circuit described in 1.1 b), are specified in Annex CB. Note 1: The safety requirements for separate controlgear are specified in CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 61347-2-13. Note 2: In the requirements of this Standard, where both types of LED modules, self-ballasted modules, and modules with external controlgear are addressed, the term “modules” is used instead. The term “LED module(s)” is used to denote modules without external controlgear. The term “self-ballasted LED module(s)” is used to denote modules with internal controlgear. 1.4 The values given in SI units are the standard. Where values are given in parentheses, they are for information only.
