1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE The purpose of this standard is to establish the ecotoxicological requirements for dust abatement products. This standard applies to dust abatement products spread onto non-asphalted roads and other similar surfaces in order to limit dust production. This standard deals mainly with an assessment of ecotoxicological dangers and does not aim to evaluate the efficiency of dust abatement products at reducing dust. The requirements of this standard are based on the Étude écotoxicologique de quatre abat-poussière utilisés au Québec (see Annex C). This standard is intended for the purpose of conformity assessment. It is important to note that the users of this document are responsible for judging whether or not he document is pertinent to their needs.
