Standard for the Maintenance and Testing of Smoke Alarms

1. Scope 1.1 This Standard applies to the maintenance and testing of smoke-alarms within dwelling units as well as within sleeping rooms that are not part of dwelling units. (Refer to Appendix A and Appendix B.) 1.2 For installation requirements, refer to CAN/ULC-S553, Standard for the Installation of Smoke Alarms.
