Asphalt Shingle Application on Roof Slopes 1:3 and Steeper

1. Scope 1.1 This Standard describes the minimum application requirements for asphalt strip shingles on roofs with slopes 1:3 and steeper. Note: Roof Substrate and Ventilation Below Substrate. Appendix A is included to provide recommendations for acceptable substrate for shingles; Appendix B, recommendations for a cceptable ventilation below the shingle substrate; and Appendix C, recommendations on the application of asphalt shingles over insulation.
