1 Purpose This standard specifies hog production characteristics and requirements to which hog producers shall conform in relation to their activities. The purpose of this standard is to reassure consumers and intermediaries of hog producer conformity with the requirements of the Canadian Quality Assurance program and the implementation, in the production unit, of additional measures likely to favour pork product safety. 2 SCOPe This standard applies to all types of hog productions. This standard is intended for use within the framework of a program of recognition of conformity for production units.
