This special publication does not constitute a standard and is not mandatory in
any way. It is written in mandatory language to accommodate its adoption by
anyone wishing to do so.
1.2
This special publication outlines the requirements of a chain of custody
process for forest products originating from a defined forest area (DFA) that
is registered to CSA Standard CAN/CSA-Z809 by an SFM (sustainable forest
management) registrar accredited by the Standards Council of Canada.
Note: Label requirements and product claims (on and off product) regarding the
use of the CSA SFM mark are not covered in this special publication.
