Maple Syrup - Characteristics and Test Methods
SCOPE This standard applies to maple syrup derived from the concentration and evaporation of maple sap. This standard applies to maple syrup destined for marketing in large containers or in small containers. NOTE - For the purpose of transactions between syrup-makers and processors, wholesalers and retailers, it is agreed that maple syrup be graded. In Québec, this grading is carried out by the organization recognized by the Convention de mise en marché du sirop d'érable du Québec entre la Fédération des producteurs acéricoles du Québec et tous les acheteurs du produit visé par le plan conjoint des producteurs acéricoles du Québec.
