1 PURPOSE AND SCOPe The purpose of this document is to establish a certification protocol for stand-alone wastewater treatment systems for isolated dwellings based on requirements of Standard NQ 3680-910. This certification protocol is supported by Document NQ 9902-001, which serves as a foundation for certification and specifies different regulations and procedures in order that they apply particularly to stand-alone wastewater treatment systems, the subject matter of this document. This document is intended for manufacturers wanting to be acknowledged by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ) for their stand-alone wastewater treatment system's compliance, for persons responsible for applying the Regulation respecting waste water disposal systems for isolated dwelling [RRQ, c.Q-2, r.8] of the Ministère de l'Environnement et de la Faune du Québec, and for persons wanting to benefit from the BNQ certification program developed on the basis of Standard NQ 3680-910 and this certification protocol.
