1. Scope 1.1 This Standard applies to coextruded thermoplastic drain, waste, and vent pipe with an outer layer of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) and an inner layer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or with a outer and inner layers of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) and a core of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), to be used with fittings, accessories, and solvent cement meeting the requirements of CSA Standard B181.1. 1.2 This Standard includes requirements for materials, quality of work, dimensions and tolerances, impact strength, chemical resistance, water resistance, dimensional stability, compression strength, extrusion quality, and bond strength. Note: Recommended storage, handling, and installation practices for coextruded ABS/PVC DWV pipe are the same as those given in CSA Standard B181.1, Appendix A. Use of these recommended practices will help to ensure proper installation and optimum service life. 1.3 The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard.
