1. Scope 1.1 This standard provides procedures to installers of spray-applied rigid polyurethane cellular plastic used as thermal insulation in building construction and other applications, whether applied either "on site" or in a manufacturing facility. 1.2 The procedures include selection of chemical components, application, quality control and documentation of the application, limitations for the application and recommendations for safety and for disposal of associated waste material and packaging. 1.3 Spray-application according to this standard requires the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use. Anyone using this standard has the responsibility to consult the appropriate authorities and to establish appropriate health and safety practices in conjunction with any existing applicable regulatory requirements prior to its use (see also Appendix B).
