1. Scope 1.1 This standard applies to weather-resistant enamel suitable for exterior use on metal and wood surfaces, with the exception of floors. 1.2 The enamel is intended for exterior use as a topcoat over structural steel and as a trim finish for wood, and for use on incidental metal. A particular use is for the identification and marking of fire alarm systems and fire fighting equipment and accessories. 1.3 The testing and evaluation of a product against this standard may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous.
