1 Scope This edition of CAN/CSA-Q10001 gives guidance to enable suppliers and other users to have improved consistency, precision, clarity, and understanding when applying the requirements of the 1994-07-01 editions of ISO 9001, ISO 9002 and ISO 9003. This edition of CAN/CSA-Q10001 is phrased in terms of guidance to the supplier in order to reflect the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 9002 or ISo 9003. However, this guidance does not add to, or otherwise change, the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 9002 and ISO 9003. In a case of conflict between ISO 9001, ISO 9002 or ISO 9003 on the one hand, and this edition of CAN/CSA-Q10001, on the other, the requirement in ISO 9001, ISO 9002 or ISO 9003 takes precedence. This edition of CAN/CSA-Q10001 is generic and equally applicable to all organizations supplying any combination of hardware, software, processed materials, and services that are seeking to implement quality assurance. In particular, this edition of CAN/CSA-Q10001 gives guidance to the following users: a) suppliers that want to implement ISO 9001, ISO 9002 or ISO 9003; b) customers or third parties that need to assess the implementation of those Standards.
