This specification applies to canned fish including shellfish (molluscs and
crustaceans). It is intended to be used by food services in the procurement
of food.
1.2
This specification does not cover detailed requirements on sampling,
examination or lot acceptance, nor does it cover definitions of defects, since
they are given in detail in the applicable inspection and product standards
manuals by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (par. 2.1.1).
