1.1 This Standard applies to flexible cords, cables, and hoistway cables rated at 125, 300, or 600 V and intended for use in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I. 1.2 The intended uses of flexible cords or cables specified in this Standard are based on past experience and does not necessarily cover all situations. 1.3 A product employing materials or having forms of construction differing from those detailed in the requirements of this Standard may be examined and tested according to the intent of the requirements and, if found to be substantially equivalent, may be judged to comply with the Standard.
