Deals with the qualification, application, inspection, testing, handling, and storage of materials required for plant-applied polyethylene coating applied externally to bare pipe, whereby an adhesive is interposed between a bare or epoxy primed pipe and the polyethylene. The coated pipe is primarily intended for buried or submerged service for oil or gas pipeline systems. Note: It is not intended that the application of this Standard should prevent the use of other established polyolefin coating systems. It is also not intended to prevent the development of new materials, equipment, or practices, nor to prescribe specifically how such innovations should be handled.
