This Guide explains the intent, and compares the differences in
comprehensiveness, of the four Software Quality Assurance Program Standards in
the CAN/CSA-Q396 Series. Guidance is provided for selecting appropriate
Standards for given software products and for developing and implementing the
Software Quality Assurance Programs.

This Guide discusses ways of complying with the requirements of Q396.1.1,
Q396.1.2, Q396.2.1, and Q396.2.2. CSA Standard Q396.0 should be read in
conjunction with the Standard being implemented, with the understanding that
it neither reduces nor increases the specified requirements of the Standard.
