1. SCOPE 1.1 These Requirements cover the construction and operation of hand and wheeled carbon dioxide fire extinguishers. 1.2 Carbon dioxide fire extinguishers shall also comply with the requirements of the Standard for the Rating and Fire Testing of Fire Extinguishers and Class D Extinguishing Media, CAN/ULC-S508-M90. 1.3 An extinguisher of 21.5 kg or less total mass shall be designated, for the purpose of these requirements, as a hand type. NOTE: Reference to each applicable Test Method for a requirement is indicated by the letters TM and the appropriate Clause or Section number in parentheses in the right hand margin.
