1. PURPOSE AND APPLICATIONS
The purpose of this standard is to define, standardize and simplify the terms,
regulations and techniques relating to the pruning of trees undertaken to:
a) correct an existing or potential unbalance between the crown and the
roots;
b) terminate, reduce, maintain, control or encourage growth;
c) ensure safety;
d) preserve or improve the appearance of the species treated.
