1. Scope The requirements of the Standard are based on engineering design practices and research that have evolved during the development of concrete structures for the exploitation of offshore oil and gas resources. The Standard is not intended to be a detailed design manual and does not provide complete design procedures. The Standard and the Commentary are intended to supplement, not replace, sound engineering experience and judgement.
