1. Scope 1.1 Types This Standard covers three types of asphalt-impregnated and -coated glass-roll roofing surfaced with insoluble inorganic mineral matter: (a) Types I and II: asphalt-impregnated and -coated glass-fibre felt surfaced with water-insoluble inorganic mineral matter; (b) Type III: asphalt-impregnated and -coated glass-fibre felt surfaced with fine mineral matter on the top side and mineral granules on the bottom; this Type is used as a first ply in built-up roofing systems for the relief of pressure through lateral vapour movement; Type III felt may contain perforations of specific size as prescribed in Table 2, for spot mopping, or it may be unperforated. 1.2 Temperature These products should only be applied at 10°C and above. 1.3 Dimensions This Standard is dual dimensioned in SI (metric) and imperial units but in case of a discrepancy between the two, the SI (metric) units shall govern.
