Prescribes the minimum design requirements applicable to construction of overhead electric supply and communication lines located entirely outside of buildings and fenced supply stations. It includes electric supply and communication circuits installed alone, in joint use or in proximity to each other or other facilities; crossing each other or other facilities, including railways or highways or land likely to be traversed by vehicles or pedestrians. The Standard does not provide complete specifications but only prescribes requirements that are most important with respect to: (a) Safety to persons; (b) Continuity of service; and (c) Protection to property.
