1. Scope and Application 1.1 Scope This Standard describes requirements and test methods for materials, dimensions, workmanship, pipe stiffness, quality control, joining systems, and a form of marking for SDR 41, Type IPS PVC sewer pipe and fittings. 1.2 Application Pipe and fittings made to this Standard are intended for non-pressure drainage of sewage and other liquid wastes in the following applications: (a) Sanitary sewers and storm sewers; (b) Building sewers and building drainage systems; (c) Storm drainage; and (d) Rain water leaders. Notes: (1) Pipe and fittings produced to meet the requirements of this Standard should be installed in accordance with CSA Standard B182.11. (2) Industrial waste disposal lines should be installed only with the specific approval of the regulatory authority since chemicals not commonly found in drains and sewers, and temperatures in excess of 60°C, may be encountered.
