1. Scope 1.1 This Standards applies to polyethylene protective covering over paper-insulated metallic-sheathed power cables t oprotect the sheath against mechanical damage during installation and against corrosion. Note: For abnormal installations, such as when high transient voltages may appear on the metalic sheath, it may be necessary to require a greater thickness of polyethylene covering than the minimum of this Standard and supplementary requirements may be necessary.
