1. SCOPE 1.1 This Specification is designed: 1.1.1 To detail the standards and definitions pertaining to large incandescent tungsten lamps, the physical and electrical characteristics that constitute good lamps, and the tolerances permissible in their inspection and testing. 1.1.2 To provide an authoritative method of determining lamp quality with respect to physical characteristics, efficiency, lumen maintenance, life performance, etc. 1.1.3 To provide tables of the dimensions and electrical and photometric characteristics of the lamps covered by this Specification. 1.1.4 To provide a technical basis for contracts governing the purchase and sale of large incandescent tungsten lamps and to adequately protect both the Purchaser and Manufacturer.
