1. Scope 1.1 This Standard covers chlorinated poly (vinyl chloride) pipe, tubing, and fittings having a standard dimension ratio SDR 11 for use in hot and cold water pressurized distribution systems. Nominal pipe, tubing, and fitting sizes are from 3/8 through 2 in. Fittings include socket type, plastic-to-metal transition type, and mechanical type. 1.2 This Standard includes requirements for materials, workmanship, dimensions and tolerances, hydrostatic sustained pressure strength, thermocycling resistance, solvent cement, joint strength, and methods of marking.
