1. Scope 1.1 This standard applies to three-strand, hawserlaid, polypropylene monofilament rope. 1.2 For purposes of this standard "monofilament" rope shall mean rope made from filaments in excess of 2.8 tex per filament. NOTE: Polypropylene rope should not be used in situations where it is likely to receive extended exposure to sunlight or in situations relating to the preservation of human life such as life lines or other life-saving purposes.
