1. SCOPE 1.1 This standard applies to a thin-film inorganic zinc rich material intended to protect abrasive-blasted plate or structural steel, before and during construction of ships and other steel structures, for a minimum of one year. After construction is complete, inorganic zinc or conventional coatings (except oil and alkyd based) may be applied over the preservative. 1.2 For additional information on intended uses see par. 8.2.
