Sodium pyrophosphate for industrial use — Estimation of pyrophosphate content — Potentiometric metho...
Applicable to products containing at least 90 % (m/m) of tetrasodium pyrophosphate and in the absence of more condensed forms of phosphates. The reaction based on conversion of tetrasodium pyrophosphate to disodium dihydrogenpyrophosphate by addition of hydrochloric acid. Introduction of zinc sulfate in solution for precipitation of zinc pyrophosphate and formation of sulphuric acid.…
Sodium hydroxide for industrial use — Method of assay
Method for determination of the titre; this is expressed conventionally as percentages by mass of NaOH, a) as total alkalinity and b) as caustic alkalinity, corresponding to the total alkalinity less the alkalinity due to carbonates. The principle consists in titration of the total alkalinity with standard volumetric hydrochloric acid solution in the presence of methyl orange as indicator.…
Phosphoric acid for industrial use — Determination of sulphate content — Method by reduction and tit...
Applicable to products having sulphate contents equal to or more than 0.0005 % (m/m). Analysis by reduction of the sulphate to sulphide by a mixture of hydriodic acid and hypophosphorus acid. Absorption of the hydrogen sulphide evolved in a mixture of acetone and sodium hydroxide solution. Titration with a standard volumetric solution of mercury(II) acetate in the presence of dithizone as…
Plastics — Preparation of glass fibre reinforced, resin bonded, low-pressure laminated plates or pan...
Specification of standard procedures for the preparation of test plates for subsequent preparation of test specimens by bonding glass cloth or mats with low pressure thermosetting resins. Three methods are specified: Method A: Glass reinforcement and liquid resin with suitable catalyst or curing agent are moulded in a press mould under appropriate conditions. Method B: Glass reinforced prepregs…
Indicating Pressure Gauges for Fire Protection Service
1.1
These requirements cover indicating pressure gauges of the elastic element type
for use with sprinkler or standpipe equipment for fire protection service. The
nominal sizes of gauges covered by these requirements are limited to 3-1/2 and
4-1/2 inches.
1.2
Requirements for the installation and use of the gauges covered by this Guide
are included in the Standards of the National Fire…
Hard coal — Determination of caking power — Roga test
The caking power of a coal is defined by the mechanical strength of the crucible coke obtained by carbonization under standard conditions of an intimate mixture of 1 g of coal and 5 g of standard anthrazite. The crucible coke obtained is then submitted to a drum test in a strictly prescribed manner and the Roga Index is calculated from the results.
Corrigendum 1 - Method of measurement of non-linearity in resistors
Standardizes a method of measurement and associated test conditions for determining the magnitude of non-linear distortion generated in a resistor. Has the status of a technical report.
