Cheese — Determination of nitrate and nitrite contents — Method by cadmium reduction and photometry
Describes a method suitable for hard, semi-hard and soft cheeses of various ages and for processed cheese. The principle is based on extraction of the cheese with warm water, precipitation of the fat and proteins, filtration and reduction of the nitrate in a portion of the filtrate to nitrite by means of copperized cadmium. The detection limits of the method are 5 mg of nitrate per kilogram and 0…
Guidelines for the presentation of International Standards dealing with the design of structures
The different approaches to the drafting of International Standards resulted in a lack of uniformity in the technical content, and in the layout and sequence of the subject matter, of such documents. This Technical Report has, therefore, been prepared to create guidelines for the presentation of International Standards dealing with the design of structures.
Check of the calibration of moisture meters — Part 1: Moisture meters for cereals
The method is applicable to oats, durum wheat, wheat, maize, barley, rice, rye and sorghum. It consists in preparing of several test samples, or a range of test samples, with different moisture contents, under specified conditions, determining of their moisture contents by a reference method and measuring with the meter to be checked. An annex specifies the maximum permitted errors.
Copper and copper alloys — Determination of tin content — Spectrometric method
The method is applicable to the determination of tin contents between 0.005 and 0.5 % (m/m) in all types of copper and copper alloys listed in International Standards. A method applicable to the determination of tin contents below 0.005 % (m/m) is in preparation. ISO 4751 specifies principle, reagents, apparatus, procedure, preparation of calibration graph, expression of results and test report.
Crude sodium borates for industrial use — Determination of total and alkali-soluble silica contents ...
Specifies a method using test solutions to be prepared by fusion of a test portion with sodium carbonate for the determination of the total silica content, and by dissolution of the alkalisoluble part of a test portion in sodium hydroxide solution for the determination of the alkali-soluble silica content. This results in the formation of molybdosilicate, followed by spectrometric measurement at…
