Is one of a series of International Standards dealing with the conversion of systems of writing, following the principles of stringent conversion in order to permit international information exchange. Its aim is to provide a means for international communication of written messages in a form which permits the automatic transmission and reconstitution of these by men or machines.

The different approaches to the drafting of International Standards resulted in a lack of uniformity in the technical content, and in the layout and sequence of the subject matter, of such documents. This Technical Report has, therefore, been prepared to create guidelines for the presentation of International Standards dealing with the design of structures.

This International Standard specifies, for 8 mm Type S cameras and projectors, the dimensions of the image area produced by the camera on the film and the maximum projectable image area as well as the image positions relative to the reference edge-of the film, and the perforations used to position the images.

The method is applicable to the determination of tin contents between 0.005 and 0.5 % (m/m) in all types of copper and copper alloys listed in International Standards. A method applicable to the determination of tin contents below 0.005 % (m/m) is in preparation.
