This Standard sets forth a set of minimum performance requirements for portable engine fueling systems (PEFS) with a rated capacity of not more than 32 L (8.45 US gallons), designed to be connected to gasoline-fueled engines aboard boats by flexible fuel lines which may be disconnected for refilling and portability.

The PEFS includes the container, closures, and any other components sold with the PEFS including components sold separately for use on the PEFS, which shall be designed to, and function in compliance with this standard.

This Standard applies to the fuel tank and fuel line assemblies and components to the point of connection to the engine fuel inlet adaptor, together or separately.

Raison d’être du projet

This proposed New Standard is being developed at the request of CSA Portable Fuel Tanks and Containers Technical Committee, certification bodies, and the industry. It will provide the industry with a new standard to meet the requirements of new advancement in technology. This will meet the strategic needs of the following key interests: a) ensuring that the latest innovative/technology/safety features are available for users, b) addressing needs of regulators by providing suitable requirements; and c) supporting certification bodies.
