CSA Design Construction and Maintenance of Soil Cell Tree Trench Systems will cover requirements and guidance regarding the design, construct and maintain of soil cell systems intended for the protection of downstream and surrounding water quality and for flood mitigation. Key areas covered include roles and responsibilities, soil cell site planning criteria and constraints, cold climate suitability, typical performance and design criteria, design, construction requirements, operations and maintenance considerations and documentation.

Raison d’être du projet

To support innovation in the field of Green Infrastructure and Nature Based Solutions for Urban Flood and Stormwater Management by providing requirements for the Design of Soil Cell Systems in a Canadian context. This proposed New Standard will provide the industry and regulatory agencies with design, construction and maintenance requirements for Soil Cell Systems that help address sustainable urban flooding and stormwater management and climate change adaptation. This Standard will benefit various stakeholders by: a) providing a National Standard in an industry without a standard for this technology; b) ensuring that the latest innovative/technology/safety features are available for users; c) addressing the strategic needs of regulators (Municipal, Provincial and Federal) by providing suitable requirements, where currently there are none; d) providing clear requirements for suppliers/consultants/contractors; e) undergoing periodic maintenance every 4 years;
