Principal Uses and Terminology for Asphalt Materials for Road Purposes
This standard is a guide identifying in chart form the principal
uses of road asphalt materials and listing definitions of terms
used to describe road asphalt materials and their applications.
Applies to cutback asphalts derived from petroleum, suitable for
road construction and similar purposes. It does not apply to
either asphalt cements or emulsified asphalts.
Emulsified Asphalts, Anionic Type, for Road Purposes
Applies to liquid asphalt materials in the form of aqueous
emulsions of the anionic type suitable for road construction and
similar purposes and consisting essentially of paving asphalts
dispersed in water.
Emulsified Asphalts, Cationic Type, for Road Purposes
Applies to liquid asphalt materials in the form of aqueous
emulsions of the cationic type suitable for road construction and
similar purposes and consisting essentially of paving asphalts
dispersed in water.
