Type I burettes (no waiting time) class A and B and type II burettes (with waiting time) class A are considered at reference time, volumetric accuracy, limits of volumetric error an relation to capacity and to diameter at the meniscus.

Requirements related to type I burettes specify capacity, test method, delivery time and method of use. The burettes shall conform to the general requirements of ISO 385/1.

Capacity, test method, delivery time and waiting time of Type II burettes are specified. The annex deals with handling and method of use of the test. Furthermore, the burettes shall conform to the general requirements of ISO 385/1.
