Lays down the treatment of a test portion by dilution with water (or with ethanol or propan-2-ol if the sample is not completely soluble in water) and removal of carbon dioxide by passing a strem of nitrogen through the solution. The determination is carried out by titration with a standard volumetric sodium hydroxide solution using phenolphthalein as indicator. The nitrogen used shall be free…

Furfural for industrial use — Determination of acidity to phenolphthalein — Volumetric method
Pretreatment of the water used, freshly boiled and cooled, by neutralization by addition of the standard volumetric sodium hydroxide solution or sulphuric acid solution as required. Addition of the test portion and titration with the standard volumetric sodium hydroxide solution in presence of phenolphthalein as indicator until the apperance of a pale pink colour.

Aluminium fluoride for industrial use — Preparation and storage of test samples
Specifies the procedure of treatment of crude samples and dried samples. The crude sample is intended for the determination of certain geometrical characteristics and physical and physico-chemical tests including moisture determination. The dried sample is intended especially for chemical tests. The principle consists in grinding followed by sieving of the sample until the whole mass passes…

Textiles — Integrated conversion table for replacing traditional yarn numbers by rounded values in t...
This International Standard is intended to facilitate the changeover by industry and commerce from traditional yarn numbering systems to the Tex System. It provides a range of recommended rounded linear densities in the Tex System to replace the yarn numbers in the six main traditional numbering systems.

Hydrochloric acid for industrial use — Determination of soluble sulphates — Turbidimetric method
The turbidimetric method is applicable to products containing less than 0.1 % (m/m) of soluble sulphates. The principle consists in evaporation of a test portion to dryness and solution of the residue in hydrochloric acid. Measurement of the turbidity obtained by precipitation, under well defined conditions, of barium sulphate. Has also been approved by the IUPAC.

Urea for industrial use — Determination of the buffer coefficient — Potentiometric method
Applicable to solutions of conventional concentration. The principle consists in measurement, at (20 0.5) 0C, of the quantity of 0.05 N acid solution required to effect a pH change from 8 to 6 for a solution containing 100 g of urea in 1000 ml of solution. For the measurement a pH meter is used fitted with a glass electrode and a calomel electrode. The method has also been approved by the IUPAC.

Urea for industrial use — Measurement of the pH of a solution of urea of conventional concentration ...
Describes the measurement of a solution of a test sample by means of a pH meter fitted with one glass electrode and one calomel electrode. The pH meter has a sensitivity of 0.05 pH units. The calibration of the pH meter is carried out at (20 0.5) 0C by means of buffer solutions. The method has also been approved by the IUPAC.

Crude glycerine for industrial use — Calculation of Matter (Organic) Non-Glycerol (MONG)
This determination is preferred to that of the non-volatile organic residue, which is more lengthy and leads to less reproducible results. The matter represents, by convention, the difference obtained by subtracting from 100 th sum of the contents of glyceral, ash and water. The determination of the glyceraol content, determination of ash and the determination of water are carried out by…
