Plastics laboratory ware — Graduated measuring cylinders
The requirements specify a series of plastic cylinders having a graduated volumetric scale and a pouring spout. The series of nominal capacities is tabled and so do the dimesions. The construction is illustrated by some figures showing the general appearance and the scales of measuring cylinders. The annex deal with testing of plastic cylinders, test for ionic material extracted by water and with…
Laboratory glassware — Graduated pipettes — Part 1: General requirements
Pipettes with no waiting time and with waiting time of 15 s and such ones adjusted for blow-out are generally concerned and specified. Limits of error for class A pipettes are shown in relation to capacity in annex A and in relation to diameter at the miniscus in annex B.
Spices and condiments — Preparation of a ground sample for analysis
Basis for this method is the laboratory sample obtained by the method specified in ISO 948. The principle of determination consists in grinding the laboratory sample, which has been previously mixed, to obtain particles of the size specified in the International Standard appropriate to the spice or condiment concerned or, if not so specified, to obtain particles of size approximately 1 mm.
The requirements specify a series of capacities from 100 ml to 2000 ml. The construction with material, shape, radius of curvature of base and the vacuum connection are illustrated. The dimensions are tabled and the most important sections of the flask are drawn. The annex specify hydraulic external pressure tests.
The specified requirements deal with two series of inexpensive "commercial" liquid-in-glass thermometers, when great accuracy of measurement is not requirend: a series designated A to H, in which nominal ranges and maximum overall lengths are specified and a series designated J to W of greater accuracy and with specifies ranges and overall length, which may be acceptable for testing by…
Cereals and milled cereal products — Automatic sampling by mechanical means
The method applies to the assessment of quality of grains or of milled cereal products moving in bulk, intended for human consumption. It is not applicable to commodities in sachs or packages, to static bulks in wagons, ships, bulk tankers, silos or warehouses, nor does it apply to seed grain. It describes apparatus, location and time of sampling, taking increments, bulk sample, laboratory…
Chemical analysis of light metals and their alloys — Statistical interpretation of inter-laboratory ...
This Technical Report constitutes an attempt to explain the numerical results of a statistical examination in the simplest possible way and to show how statistical results can be used in laboratory practice. This simplified method is applicable when the number of laboratories is not more than 20 and when the number of results per laboratory is not more than 10.
Laboratory glassware — Flasks with conical ground joints
An international acceptable series of flasks is specified concluding: round-bottom, flat-bottom and conical flasks. Two series are specified for each type of round-bottom and flat-bottom flasks. The series differ in heigt and in selection of joint sizes. For conical flasks one series of heights is specified each having different joint sizes. The material must be borosilicate glass 3.3. For the…
